Description

A global trade finance facility of EUR 20 million comprising: (i) a trade finance line of credit (TFLOC) of EUR 15 million over three and a half years, including a grace period of three (3) years, disbursable in two tranches; and (ii) a Transaction Guarantee (TG) of EUR 5 million granted to Générale de Banque de Mauritanie (GBM) to help it develop its trade finance portfolio for SMEs operating in key sectors of the Mauritanian economy such as light industry, fisheries, renewable energy, infrastructure, agriculture (machinery imports), trade, telecommunications, and services. The transaction also includes a nonrefundable grant of $500,000 in the form of a performance-based incentive (PBI) from AFAWA (Approved by WeFi Technical review committee on March 23, 2025), financed by We-Fi funds, to promote access to financing for women's businesses in Mauritania.
