Description

Description

"This project entails the construction of the Mauriti 3, 4, and 10 Solar Power Plants, located in the municipality of Mauriti, Ceará state, Brazil. These three facilities are part of the Mauriti Solar Complex and are sponsored by the Chinese renewable energy developer PowerChina. The combined generation capacity of the Mauriti 3, 4, and 10 plants is planned to be 147.33 MW, with sufficient energy output to power over 193,000 homes. The project also includes building a transmission system comprising a collector substation and a 15-kilometer transmission line. In addition, the Mauriti Complex features six other plants not directly supported by this operation but which will share the same transmission infrastructure, connecting the complex to the National Interconnected System (SIN). The total project cost is $129 million (R$722 million), with $60 million (R$339 million) financed through a loan from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) and the remaining $69 million provided by the sponsor company. Financial closure for the project was achieved on August 30, 2024." https://agenciadenoticias.bndes.gov.br/detalhe/noticia/BNDES-apoia-com-R$-339-milhoes-projeto-solar-no-Ceara/
