Mauritius - Support to National Health Plan Project

The Support to the National Health Plan has been designed to upgrade and strengthen the health care delivery system in line with Government policy. It’s an operation to assist the Government of Mauritius to improve tertiary health care services in the five regions, enhance the quality of available human resources and intensify health promotion programme to alleviate the high prevalence of non-communicable diseases. The project is part of the strategic framework for sustainable implementation of the National Health Plan (NHP) designed to improve and sustain the quality of life in Mauritius through strengthened health care delivery system. The project focuses on Upgrading of Dr A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, and capacity building and health promotion throughout the country. When completed it should enable the health delivery system to provide curative, supportive and promotive services to women, children, youths and the elderly. Staff productivity and patient care should be enhanced through improved working environment and health facilities.
