The objective of the present application is to complete the financing to cover the development needs of the drama/fantasy feature film MAYA, succeed in the development and be able to take the project to the production stage. The number of people involved in the development of the film project is around forty and include the creative team, the production team, location scouter, etc. The development actions include: screenwriting, visual research, shooting of a proof of concept film, casting, location scouting, budgeting, financing of the project, securing distribution of the project, visiting film markets and festivals, creating a marketing strategy, building up all the creative team and crew, etc. In order to reach the main goal, Bark Like A Cat Films (Cyprus), Hive Division (Italy), Cowtown Pictures (Ireland) and FICTION PARK (Germany) have joined forces to build up the project, creating a pan-European project with the goal of reaching European and international audiences. The film tells the story of the rebellious psychiatrist Maya, who visits her parents' isolated mountain village for the first time since birth, to sell the family house, only to enter a patriarchal microcosm complete with superstitions, fears and fables of goblins in the woods. She is soon led to big discoveries about the myths, her parents, but also about herself. The shoot will take place in Cyprus. The original language of the film is Greek.
