Description | The project involves the design, build and operate of a new wastewater treatment plant in Dar es Salaam region, Tanzania at Mbezi Beach area. The 16,000 m3/day plant will have state-of-the-art engineering and technologies to enhance operational and maintenance costs, improve sludge quality, and minimize the overall carbon footprint. Dar Es Salaam Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (DAWASA) awarded the 3-year contract to Metito, following a tender process with 12 bidders procured in May 2021. Project financing is being provided by the World Bank and counterpart financing from the government of Tanzania.
