McAdam - Wellfield Expansion - Phase 2

The purpose of the wellfield expansion project is to provide additional groundwater supply capacity to support the future growth of the Village of McAdam, New Brunswick. This project is Phase 2 of a two-phased project, with Phase 1 consisting of target well drilling and test well drilling, the development of a new production well and wellhouse and installation of water transmission lines. Phase 2 will consist of upgrading the treatment facilities and decommissioning wells that are no longer useable The scope of work for Phase 2 includes: upgrading the existing chlorination system and process piping in the control building to accommodate the new well; construction of a greywater septic system to service the new wellhouse; and decommissioning multiple wells that are no longer useable, including sealing three groundwater supply test wells with bentonite, and removal of equipment and capping the water line from the existing production well with elevated manganese levels.
