Description | The Delhi government has sanctioned a Rs 610.27 crore project for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to implement mechanised sweeping, enhance construction waste management, and introduce battery-operated litter pickers. The project includes modernising 106 primary construction and demolition (C&D) waste collection centres with barricading, CCTV surveillance, water sprinklers, air quality sensors, and information boards to reduce dust emissions. It also involves procuring 60 mechanical road sweeping machines for all 12 MCD zones under a 10-year service outsourcing model and deploying battery-operated litter picker vehicles under an eight-year service model to improve cleanliness in market areas and narrow lanes. |
