McLeod Lake Indian Band Community Centre

The project will construct an approximately 12,000 square foot community centre in McLeod Lake for cultural and recreational activities. The building will include a gym, a community kitchen, washrooms, fitness room, multi-purpose rooms for meetings and courses as well as outdoor space for events and gatherings. It has been a long-term goal of the Tse’khene people of McLeod Lake to have a multipurpose facility for gathering, activities and to celebrate their culture. This new community centre will also be able to be used as an emergency centre and muster point for the entire community. The project works will include: - gym; - community hall/recreation; - community kitchen; - washroom/change room; - fitness/exercise room; - meeting room; - lobby with cultural artifact and art display; - circle gathering and storytelling area; - covered patio and outdoor gathering space; - storage room; - reception; - landscaping; and, - other related works.
