The FC measure includes general budget support financing for Ghana for phases X-XII (2013-2015) of the MDBS programme. During the government negotiations in May 2012, the Federal Government pledged an FC loan of up to EUR 30 million. As in the previous programme phases, this contribution is intended to put the Ghanaian government in a better position to successfully implement its national development strategy and thus achieve its priority development goals. The programme thus supports the Ghanaian government in achieving the Millennium Development Goals and consolidating its status as a middle-income country by eliminating ongoing structural deficits. In addition, the Ghanaian government was pledged a financial contribution for an accompanying measure of EUR 0.5 million to support the Ghanaian Court of Auditors. This measure, which is co-financed with DANIDA and CIDA, is currently being implemented and will be completed by the end of 2014.
