Meadow House Retrofit and Extension

completed

Meadow House is a deep retrofit and extension of a Victorian villa in Tunbridge Wells, England. The project includes a 27% expansion of the home's footprint with a timber and cork extension, achieving a 75% reduction in energy bills. It features a triple-height atrium, improved thermal performance using low-carbon materials, and a modular U-Build system for the extension, which was constructed by the clients themselves. The retrofit incorporates passive strategies and circular construction principles to reduce operational carbon by 68%.
