Description
Description | Beyond Borders – Italy together with its partners Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (KOM 018) – Serbia, Youth Vibes – Serbia, Armenian Progressive Youth (APY) – Armenia, Unit – Ukraine and Loesje – Georgia would like to implement project Media Literacy Empowered – new methodologies in youth work as follow up project to small-scale partnership project implemented in 2023 and 2024. This project consortium recognizes the need for more structured approaches and new methodologies in youth work in order to address issues of information and media illiteracy among young people. With the fast development of social and communication media online, media literacy plays an important role in promoting responsible online behaviour, encouraging respectful discussions, and increasing individual abilities to disseminate information critically online. In the world where false news and misrepresented information, media literacy empowers individuals to make decisions based on information, distinguish between reliable and unbelievable sources, and actively participate in the democratic process, which ultimately contributes to more informed and involved communities. General objective: To raise awareness about the importance of media literacy among young people. Specific objectives: • To develop new methodologies in youth work in the field of media literacy and combat against oppressive content in media (WP2) • To equip youth workers, teachers and educators with set of new educational tools in the field of media literacy and combat against negative effects of media content (WP3) • To raise awareness about ethical media coverage among young people in partner countries.
