Our slate will strengthen our position in the international market, open up new avenues of collaboration with both established and up-and-coming writers & directors, implement Green Producing, improve the company’s initiatives for gender equality, strengthen the diversity in the films and teams, and tackle important societal questions. In the feature film Quartet, Massoud Bakhshi tells the story of an Iranian woman unjustly sentenced to death for the murder of one of her three lovers. He casts Iranian actresses to play her role, and together they set out to search for the truth. We will create the shooting script, create a methodological outline for the casting process, and establish the production plan and the budget and financing plan, resulting in 4 outputs. In the animation film Résistance, Bady Minck explores how brave resistance fighters, many of them women, fought back against the rise of National Socialism in 1940s Europe. A blend of animation and live-action footage, their stories of courage and dedication unfold in a miniature toy-world. We will develop an in-depth treatment, create the visual concept, produce a teaser, and establish the production plan and the budget and financing plan, resulting in 5 outputs. In the documentary film Compass, Jacques Schmitz and Chris Poulles examine the hidden side of tourism, travelling to a mine in Bolivia, a prison in Latvia, and a refugee village in Thailand in order to uncover the behind-the-scenes machinations of the tourism business. We will expand the shooting treatment, prepare the pitch for documentary pitching forums, create an updated trailer, and establish the production plan and the budget and financing plan, resulting in 5 outputs and a total of 14 outputs. Developmental progress facilitated by support from the Media Slate Program would benefit the staff of AMOUR FOU Luxembourg (8), its green consulting associate (1), the writers and directors (5), and the members of the creative teams (15).
