Our slate contains four films which we believe will strengthen our position in the European market and abroad, open up new avenues of collaboration with both established and up-and-coming artists, and tackle important and timely societal questions. In the feature film Hôtel des Thermes, Maéva Ranaïvojaona and Georg Tiller chronicle a plague outbreak in a colonial-era hotel in Madagascar, where people from a variety of backgrounds come together. We will create a detailed costume concept, revise the script, cast the main roles in Europe and Madagascar, and develop the production plan, budget, and financing plan, resulting in 4 outputs. In the feature film Happyland, Evi Romen tells the story of Helen, a musician who returns from London to her native town in rural Austria. We will elaborate the shooting version of the script, create a musical concept and clear the music rights, create a marketing/pitch package, and develop the production plan, budget, and financing plan, resulting in 4 outputs. In the documentary Who Cares, Ina Ivanceanu explores the many injustices of (unpaid) care work, especially in its relation to traditional gender roles. We will create the detailed artistic & editing concept, elaborate the shooting treatment, and develop the production plan, budget, and financing plan, resulting in 3 outputs. In the feature film The Concealment, Ljuba Arnautović and Goran Rebić delve into the story of Eva, a woman who hides persecuted Jews during WWII until a hidden love affair with one of them threatens to blow their cover. We will elaborate the first draft of the script, create a marketing/pitch package, cast the two lead roles and develop the production plan, budget, and financing plan, resulting in 4 outputs and 15 total. Developmental progress facilitated by support from the Media Slate Program would benefit all employees of AMOUR FOU Vienna (6), its green consulting associate (1), and the members of the creative teams (23).
