For this 2025 CREA TV & ONLINE call for proposals, Xilam Animation is submitting its new original animated TV series entitled Submarine Jim (“Capitaine Jim” in French) composed of 52 episodes of approximately 11 minutes each. While its editorial DNA is deeply rooted in slapstick comedy with the historical brands Oggy and the Cockroaches (8 seasons) and Zig and Sharko (4 seasons), Xilam Animation has produced, over the last years, several original animated series which belong to a more narrative genre, specifically dedicated to the fun and entertainment of a 6-to-10-year audience. Initiated and created by the brilliant Frédéric Martin, Submarine Jim immediately appeared as a must-have to Xilam Animation as it perfectly fits its cartoon DNA. This story of an “inverted” submarine, filled with water and inhabited by a colourful fish community lead by a dolphin, has an unlimited comic potential. It gives shape to an adventure dream shared by many children: being at the helm of a glorious ship and assuming one’s own responsibilities, while having fun. This project produced by Xilam Animation has already succeeded in convincing 2 major European public broadcasters: France Télévisions for France, and Super RTL for German-speaking Europe.
