Description
Description | The Taiyuan Medical Health Assets Management Center is a government agency in the city of Taiyuan in Shanxi Province, which is subordinate to the health authority. In the project, it coordinates three municipal hospitals that are the beneficiaries of the FC development loan. In addition to offering basic medical care, the three hospitals have specialized in particular areas (internal medicine, TCM, gynecology, etc.) and each in geriatric medicine. The hospitals already work with numerous health facilities in the city and province that are involved in senior care and support. The project aims to improve the quality of treatment and therapy and to expand capacity in the hospitals' catchment area. One focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions that are increasingly occurring in seniors (heart disease, cancer, etc.). In addition, adequate care and support capacities are to be created, especially for older people. The total cost of the project is around EUR 88 million. The own contribution of around EUR 53 million includes grants from the local government for new buildings and extensions as well as renovation work on existing medical building sections. The FZ funding loan of EUR 35 million will be used exclusively to finance the procurement of high-quality medical equipment (mainly for imaging diagnostics as well as for anesthesia, surgical supplies and intensive care units) and the equipment of the geriatric and rehabilitation departments. |
