The CIFCAM Project aims to democratise access to advanced medical technology by introducing frugal innovation processes, a concept that includes those production processes that allow the obtaining of products of equal utility to other pre-existing ones, but with a complexity and cost of production significantly lower. The innovative advances of these characteristics within the health field allow the implementation of medical techniques or processes that lead to a reduction in the costs of existing technologies, which facilitates the access of state-of-the-art medical technologies to strata of the population that currently does not have access to them. The project will have from the beginning with the participation of researchers specialised in the field. These will train health professionals from the Canary Islands, Cape Verde and Senegal in the most advanced techniques of developing low-cost, easy-to-implement medical devices.
