The Medog Hydropower Plant is a massive hydroelectric power station under construction on the Yarlung Tsangpo River in Medog County, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. It is expected to become the most powerful hydroelectric power station in the world with an estimated annual output of 300 billion kilowatt-hours. The project involves constructing five massive power stations at a sharp bend of the river, utilizing the river's significant elevation drop to generate enormous kinetic energy. The project aims to reduce reliance on coal power and mitigate environmental damage by increasing renewable energy production.
