Description

Description

The project MCS4-HD (Megawatt Charging System stations for heavy duty vehicles) will support the goals of the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy and the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation by expanding recharging stations in the EU and enhancing the TEN-T. Aside, the project will also push the electrified truck market, indirectly supporting the whole European freight value chain. Colruyt Group estimates that each MCS site could provide up to 75,000 km of autonomy per day for HDVs, facilitating green freighting to the Netherlands, Germany, and France. The MCS4-HD is foreseeing the implementation of fast charging stations for heavy-duty battery electric vehicles (HD-BEVs) with Megawatt Charging System (MCS) to allow electric charging along the TEN-T road networks in Belgium. The objective will be achieved with the deployment of 4 charging pools (sites) equipped with 24 recharging points with a power output of at least 1MW each, in open access without any restriction 24/7 available for users. Additionally, each MCS will also be equipped with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
