Description | The Meghalaya Livelihood and Forest Ecosystem Management Project (MegLIFE) funded by JICA aims to construct community centres across Meghalaya to support community-led activities and sustainable livelihoods. 125 community centres were inaugurated in Garo Hills, each costing Rs 24 lakh, with funding from the project and the state. The project also supports income-generating activities such as nurseries, plantations, irrigation check dams, ponds, and water storage tanks. The project targets completion of 452 community centres across 12 districts. |
