Description | On April 2010, Instrumentation Engineers Limited (Consortium & Associates) Ltd, IEL (Bangladesh, 100%) a subsidiary of Orion group, signed rental agreement with Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) for the construction and operation for a 5 years term of a 100 MW Heavy fuel oil (HFO) power plants at Meghnaghat. Under the Rental agreement, IEL was to supply 100 MW of energy to BPDB for a term of 5 years. The remainder of the energy was to be sold to the public. Following a direct negotiation process, IEL was awarded to set up a 100 MW HFO power plant at Meghnaghat. The total project cost was 39.5 US millions and reached financial closure in March 2011.
