Description

Description

The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre Expansion (MCECE) project involves the development and operation of a major expansion to the existing Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in Melbourne. Delivered as a public-private partnership (PPP), the expansion added approximately 20,000 square metres of flexible event space, including additional exhibition halls, meeting rooms, and supporting facilities. The project enhances the venue’s capacity to host multiple large-scale conferences and international exhibitions simultaneously, strengthening Melbourne’s position as a leading business events and tourism destination in the Asia-Pacific region. Under the PPP structure, the private sector partner is responsible for financing, designing, constructing, and maintaining the expanded facilities over the long term, while the state government retains public ownership.
