Memorial Arena Housing Development

The Town of Bracebridge has approved a housing project on the former Memorial Arena site, which was demolished in 2024 after serving as the community's hockey hub for over 75 years. The development will consist of 100 new housing units split between two buildings on a 1.48-acre area, with at least 25% of units in each building qualifying as affordable housing. The buildings are expected to accommodate 175 to 200 residents. The project is managed by Greystone Project Management Inc., in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North and the District Municipality of Muskoka. One building will be owned and operated by the District Municipality of Muskoka, and the other by Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North. Further steps such as detailed design, site plan approval, engineering review, and completion of agreements are pending before construction can begin, and no construction timeline has been set yet.
