The waterworks extension project in Memramcook, New Brunswick, aims to strengthen the municipal infrastructure by extending the existing waterworks network to the areas of chemin La Montain, rue Desbarres, rue Paul and chemin Nigarry. These areas are already served by a sanitary sewer system, but the addition of an aqueduct is essential to meet residents’ growing need for drinking water. The project calls for the installation of some 6.4 km of water mains, ensuring a safe and reliable supply of drinking water for around 132 existing homes. The work will also include asphalt repairs to the affected roads and upgrades to the stormwater network. These improvements will create 36 housing units and facilitate the creation of 12 potential new subdivisions, meeting housing demand and supporting local economic growth. The result will be improved access to quality drinking water, reduced reliance on private wells and enhanced resilience of municipal infrastructure.
