MHE’s programme seeks to positively contribute to the achievement of the rights of persons with disabilities by supporting the monitoring and implementation of tools such as the UNCRPD, the ESRPD and EPSR, which provide an EU policy framework to mainstream mental health in policies affecting its social determinants. Objectives: 1. Foster a human rights-based approach to mental health 2. Promote the uptake of the psychosocial model to mental health 3. Achieve accessible, high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health services in the community 4. Strengthen co-creation with experts by experience, their supporters, service providers and other actors 5. Reduce mental health-related stigma and discrimination 6. Strengthen MHE sustainability and impact. Activities: - Contributing to EU relevant policy and legislative multi-stakeholder dialogues - Development, collection and dissemination of good practices and evidence-based approaches to support the implementation of the EPSR, ESRPD and UNCRPD frameworks from a mental health perspective - Capacity building actions and resources focusing on the uptake of the psychosocial model and human rights approach in policymaking, service provision and communication - Empowerment of experts by experience, their family and supporters - Awareness-raising activities to reduce stigma and promote understanding of the realities and rights of people with mental health problems. Outcomes: - Substantial improvement in the adherence to the human rights perspective in mental health-related policies and practices across Europe - Reduced mental health stigma and discrimination at all levels of society - Increased adoption of the psychosocial model in mental health promotion and care - Improved availability of and access to equitable, recovery-oriented high-quality mental health services in the community - Experts by experience, supporters and peer networks are active actors - Strengthened MHE organisational sustainability and impact.
