Description

Description

The project MIND-CARE (Mental Health in Cultural Education – Cultivating Awareness, Resilience and Empowerment) aims to support cultural education professionals and teachers in strengthening the mental health of children. To achieve this, teachers, professionals, and political actors shall be sensitized towards the topic of children’s mental health. This includes the development and imparting of methods to mentioned professionals and teachers to help understand and support children in regard to their mental health and make their voices heard. This project focuses on children’s rights and recognizes the needs for mental protection of all girls, boys and non-binary children. The project also works with a participatory approach, meaning that measures will be undertaken with the involvement of children and all stakeholders at all times. Hereby, there will be extensive efforts to integrate groups of children into the project that are marginalized. The following measures shall be implemented to create awareness and a basis for action on the topic of children’s mental health in cultural education: 1) Capacity building (one-day and multi-day training courses to train multipliers; a symposium for EU-wide knowledge exchange on the promotion of children’s mental health in cultural education; toolbox in NL/DE/EN; practical projects to apply the toolbox); 2) Communication and dissemination (project website as a knowledge repository and information pool, awareness-raising campaign, public relations work); 3) Networking and knowledge development (surveys of young people and professionals/teachers, specialist articles, networking with partners and political actors). Awareness is to be created for the topic of strengthening mental health in cultural education so that professionals and teachers in particular who have not yet dealt with the topic are addressed.
