The project proposes to replace existing bridge approach guard rail on State Route (SR) 140 in Merced County at the Outside Canal Bridge (Br. No. 39-0055) and Main Canal Bridge (Br. No. 39-0046). The project also includes drainage work at eleven locations along SR 140. The scope includes the relocation of canal access roads, culvert extensions and removal and reconstruction of headwalls within the clear recovery zone. Right of way acquisition is required for relocation of the canal access roads and utility relocations. This project is part of the Collision Severity Reduction Program.
