This capacity will contribute to a pool of resources to meet data center load, including for Amazon and Google data centers in Northwestern Indiana. The deal leverages existing infrastructure rather than building new, allowing quicker capacity availability. NIPSCO created a subsidiary, NIPSCO Generation LLC (GenCo), to build and own generation for data centers, which will source and sell power to NIPSCO via power purchase agreements. |
