Meta-Backed Energy Infrastructure Expansion in Louisiana

Entergy Louisiana has entered into an agreement with Meta Platforms to support a hyperscale data center in Northeast Louisiana. The project includes the construction of seven new natural gas-fueled combined-cycle power plants totaling over 5,200 megawatts, 240 miles of 500 kV transmission lines, multiple battery storage sites, nuclear uprates, and up to 2,500 megawatts of new solar resources. The infrastructure is designed with future carbon capture and hydrogen co-firing capabilities and aims to deliver significant customer savings over 20 years.
