Description | Meta is building a data center near U.S. Highway 54 and Stan Roberts Sr. Avenue in Northeast El Paso. Construction has employed around 1,500 workers so far and is expected to support over 4,000 workers in total. Once operational, the center will be run by 300 full-time employees. The project includes workforce development efforts in partnership with El Paso College Schools and plans to launch an annual Data Center Community Action Grants Program to support STEM education and community technology projects. The data center's electricity use will be covered 100% by new, clean, and renewable energy projects paid by Meta. Meta will also restore 200% of the water it consumes and has announced water restoration projects to support local farmers and a grant to help residents with water bills. |
