Meta Film ApS is an acclaimed Danish upmarket production company specializing in feature films for national and international audiences. Meta Film will function as developer and major producer on the five projects funded through this slate: • Hamlet, directed by Ali Abbasi, written by Sjón and starring Noomi Rapace • Tic Tic Bang Bang, directed by Rikke Louise Schjødt and written by Ida Mule Scott • Frankenstein, written and directed by auteur Marie Grahtø • The Second Victim, directed by Zinnini Elkington and written by Maja Jul Larsen • Domino, a sequel to King’s Game, based on the hugely popular novel “Mørkeland” by Danish author Niels Krause-Kjær. Directed by Mikkel Serup and written by Marie Østerbye The projects are at different stages of development, all aiming for greenlight and production between 2022 and 2023. These five projects are characterized by their unique ability to tell stories driven by universal themes with an unconventional or otherwise special approach. All projects are representative, compelling stories that challenge taken for granted structures and norms. With this slate we're searching out new partnerships with Poland, Iceland, Holland and Croatia as well as building upon our strong co-production collaboration with Sweden and the UK. Having produced films such as BORDER, THE WIFE, SUMMER OF ’92, among others, Meta Film has proven its dedication to developing projects characterized by their distinctive quality, strong creative teams and contribution to cinematic innovation. With devoted teams of talented creatives, producers and executive producers, Meta Film will be leading the development and production of these projects.
