Description | Meta Platforms has reached an agreement with Entergy to fund seven additional natural gas plants tied to its Hyperion data center in rural Louisiana, expanding on three previously approved facilities. The total of ten plants is expected to deliver more than 7 gigawatts of electricity, making Hyperion Meta's largest data center initiative. The project also includes financing approximately 240 miles of transmission lines connecting South Louisiana to North Louisiana and Arkansas, investments in battery energy storage, and nuclear power uprates. The data center is expected to provide about 5 gigawatts of computing power, with additional capacity supporting the broader campus. |
