Description | Meta Platforms Inc. is building one of the world's largest AI data centers called Hyperion in Richland Parish, Louisiana. The project involves a multibillion-dollar investment with a footprint that could cover much of Manhattan and plans to reach 5 gigawatts of compute capacity. It includes construction of 10 new gas-fired turbines to supply power and is financed through a large private capital deal involving Blue Owl Capital Inc. and other asset managers. The data center is expected to begin operations in late 2028 and create 300 full-time jobs by 2031, increasing to 500 by 2035. |
