Description | Meta Platforms Inc. is funding the construction of seven new natural gas-fired plants to supply electricity to its largest data center, Hyperion, in rural Louisiana. This is in addition to three previously approved gas plants, bringing the total to ten plants aimed at providing over 7 gigawatts of power. The project includes building 240 miles of transmission lines, battery energy storage, and nuclear power uprates. Meta also committed to funding up to 2.5 gigawatts of new renewable resources and exploring nuclear power development. |
