Entergy Louisiana has announced an agreement with Meta to develop a hyperscale data center in Northeast Louisiana. The project aims to deliver approximately $2 billion in customer savings over 20 years. It includes infrastructure investments such as seven new natural gas-fueled combined-cycle power plants totaling over 5,200 megawatts, about 240 miles of new 500 kV transmission lines, and battery energy storage across three locations. The data center in Richland Parish has the potential to scale up to 5 gigawatts and is expected to create thousands of construction jobs from 2026 to 2031, along with permanent roles in engineering, maintenance, and support services.
