Meta Platforms Alberta Hyperscale Data Center

Meta Platforms will construct its first Canadian hyperscale data center in Alberta, initially comprising around three buildings with an estimated initial spend of C$13 billion (US$9.1 billion). The data center will consume 1 gigawatt of power initially, potentially growing to 1.8 gigawatts as it expands. The project will be accompanied by a natural gas-fired power plant constructed by a joint venture of Pembina Pipeline and Kineticor Asset Management, with which Meta has a power purchase agreement.
