Description	Meta is expanding its data center in Richland Parish, Louisiana, doubling its size to 5 gigawatts of power and increasing the investment from $10 billion to $50 billion. The data center will cover more than 3,200 acres, making it larger than Manhattan, and is expected to be completed by 2036. The expansion will increase the construction workforce to 7,500 and create 1,000 permanent jobs. Meta is also investing over a billion dollars in regional infrastructure such as roads, water, and wastewater, and funding training programs for local residents. Additionally, Meta will finance 10 new Entergy power plants, 240 miles of transmission lines, and battery storage systems to supply energy for the complex without raising energy costs for customers.
