National Accounts (NA) statistics are critical for policy-making and administrative purposes, and therefore the quality of these data, and the transparency of the sources and methods used to compile them, must be assured. Through this project NIS intends to improve the accuracy, coherence, coverage and relevance of the data from regional accounts and insurances fields, compiled by national accounts experts, follow the European System of Accounts 2010 (ESA 2010) in compiling them. Continued improvement of documentation of sources and methods are themes and priorities that are support by SMP-ESS-2025-NA-BOP-IBA-H1-7100 – Methodological, quality and transmission improvements to ESA2010 and BPM6 data, and execution of the GNI control cycle. Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2013 specifies methodological (Annex A) and transmission requirements (Annex B) of national accounts data. Work on 2024 Benchmark from NA data of Romania was dedicated to solve and include the results of Action Points from the GNI verification cycle 2020-2024, to incorporate the revised data from general government sector and balance of payments. The revision is due to 9 Action Points implemented in the Benchmark revision. The objectives of the present project will be achieved by incorporating methodological improvements, improving data collection and production processes and introducing new data sources. The main aim of WP_1 of this project is to compiling and reporting data on Gross Fixed Capital Formation (P.51g) by General Government (S.13) broken down at individual NUTS 1, NUTS 2 and NUTS 3 level.
