Description

The proposed transaction is an IFC investment of up to US$40 million in convertible redeemable preferred shares of Metito Utilities Limited (MUL. IFC’s early structuring role is expected to catalyze up to US$60 million in mobilization, with additional mobilization anticipated over the medium term. Proceeds will be deployed at the corporate level to fund MUL’s committed projects, assets under construction, and medium term pipeline, rather than being dedicated to a single greenfield development. Key projects include the Namangan wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Uzbekistan, Zrenjanin WWTP in Serbia, Dalian water supply project in China, Nabisar water supply project in Pakistan, and pipeline expansion across concession based water and wastewater assets in emerging markets. The financing will support MUL’s growth PPP/BOOT-model in water and wastewater concessions in in emerging markets, enabling the company to expand its footprint and deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions.
