The project involves the development, construction and operation of 60MW Metro Wind Thatta District Onshore Wind Farm, located on a 410-acre land in Sindh province’s Jhimpir wind corridor, Thatta district, Pakistan. The project is part of a program to build six wind power projects in Pakistan, named the Super Six. The project will be developed by Punjab-based Metro Group of Companies. The project cost is $ 75.39 million with debt and equity contributions of $59.14 million and $14.79 million, respectively. IFC provided $ 29.57 million and DEG (Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft, a subsidiary of KfW Group) provided $29.57 million.
