Description
Description | The Metrobloks data center is a proposed development at the site of an abandoned drive-in theater in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood of Indianapolis. Despite opposition from residents concerned about environmental pollution, rising electricity bills, and limited job creation, the Indianapolis City-County Council approved the project on May 4, 2026. The approval followed a symbolic resolution calling for a pause on data center development citywide, which does not carry the force of law. The project is part of a broader discussion on regulating energy-intensive data centers in the city. |
