Description
Description | MetroLink is Ireland's first fully automated metro system, featuring an 18.8-km alignment with 16 stations connecting Swords and Dublin Airport with the city center and Charlemont. The project is divided into separate procurement packages for civil design-and-build contracts and a design, build, finance, operate and maintain concession covering rolling stock, rail systems, and 25 years of operations. The civil work includes bored tunnels, deep station boxes, cut-and-cover construction, viaducts, and surface work. The rail systems package includes driverless rolling stock, signaling, trackwork, platform screen doors, ventilation, elevators, escalators, and mechanical and electrical fit-out. The project aims to carry up to 20,000 passengers per direction per hour at peak with a long-term target of 90-second headways. |
