The project will support American Life to develop life insurance products for low-income individuals in Brazil through the following components: 1. Demand research to understand the overall market as well as the specific issues related to product demand, supply, delivery and regulation. 2. Product development: Based on the overall design of the pilot and results of the research component, an insurance product will be developed targeting low-income families in the state of Alagoas. Product development will include determination of how the product will be marketed and delivered, its coverage, premium amounts, collections terms, as well as claims. 3. Launch of the pilot to test the insurance product in order to ensure that it is ready to be launched on the market and to limit potentially costly errors.
