Description

The proposed investment is an up to EUR15 million senior loan to KEP Trust (KEP) under project BOP KEP #51022 (KEP Loan) for a tenor of up 3-year with a one-year grace period, payable in Euro and booked in two commitments. The proceeds from the loan will be earmarked for financing micro and small enterprises, individual entrepreneurs and farmers with special focus to increase KEP's lending operations to farmers and enterprises in the agriculture sector, agricultural farms and agri-processing companies. At least 50% of the loans will be earmarked to climate smart agri and other climate related projects and at least 25% of the loans will be earmarked to financing women borrowers.The Project will be included in the FIG MSME Platform which is supported by a pooled first loss guarantee (PFLG) of up to US$40 million provided by International Development Association (IDA) 20 Private Sector Window Blended Finance Facility (IDA-PSW BFF) allocated to the BOP Envelope under the MSME Finance Platform.
