Description | The proposed project is an up to 5-year Senior Loan (SL) of up to EUR50 million (circa. $59.7 million) for Société Générale Sénégal (SGSN or the Bank), to expand access to finance for underserved Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), including women-owned/led MSMEs (WMSMEs), in Senegal. In addition, subject to further approvals, the project is expected to be supported by a pooled first loss guarantee (PFLG) of up to US$40 million provided by International Development Association (IDA) 20 Private Sector Window Blended Finance Facility (IDA20-PSW BFF) allocated to the SME Envelope under the MSME Finance Platform. The SL will continue to support the development of SGSN's lending activities to MSMEs and to WMSMEs in Senegal, which is part of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) region. |
