MICRO-credentials: Identifying, DEveloping, testing and Assessing innovative approaches

The main objectives of MICROIDEA proposal are: a) The development of a micro-credential system that would be linked to ISO/IEC 17024, b) The development of a holistic methodology in order to define, assess, validate, and recognize a person’s skills and competences, regarding micro credentials. ISO/IEC 17024 as a regulatory framework for micro credentials, based on certain quality standards, ensures transparency, provides a recognized standard, assures quality and increases credibility, c) The development of an “Inter European credential recognition methodology” to facilitate the balance between National certification systems and the internationally recognized ISO/ IEC 17024, d) The design and implementation of an online tool to support the analysis of skills needs, in the regions, related to occupations of the Tourism and all other sectors. During the MICROIDEA project the partnership consisting of 12 partners from 6 countries and 3rd country/s not associated: a) Will Identify develop, test, and assess an innovative approach that have the potential to be mainstreamed in order to improve education and training systems, the effectiveness of policies and practices in the field towards the needs of labor market, b) Will launch pilot actions to test solutions to present and future challenges with a view to kick-starting sustainable and systemic impact; Since Tourism staff shortages affect 1.2 million Jobs in the EU the project will focus on Tourism sector (of great importance for the participating countries economies), c) Will support transnational cooperation and mutual learning, on the innovative issues of the project, among key stakeholders and empowering them to adopt the results and promote the transfer of those solutions in new settings, including capacity-building of relevant stakeholders. In a long term (5 years after the end of the project) more than 25.000 -low skilled job seekers and 20.000 companies and entities will benefit from the project’ products.
