Description

Description

Access to financial services for the rural population, particularly access to loans for micro and small enterprises (MSEs), remains a major challenge in Ghana. Therefore, as part of the Microfinance III (Rural Microfinance) project, two selected financial institutions, (i) Fidelity Bank Ghana Ltd. and (ii) Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans Company Ltd., are receiving targeted support to further develop and expand their rural micro and small loan business. The target group of the project is economically active households and MSEs in the formal and informal sectors in rural areas. The project enabled the two financial institutions to provide the target group with efficient, needs-based and sustainable loans. The project thus contributes to the development cooperation program objective, which is to improve access to innovative and demand-oriented microfinance services and to increase employment among MSEs.
