Migrant Integration for Growth in Europe

The MIraGE project’s general objective is to increase the swift access and integration of third-county nationals in the labour market of their European host countries. The project expects to make a significant impact on the labour markets of the Member States involved and of the European Union as a whole, allowing for a swifter absorption of the migrant workforce available and still largely untapped. The project is carried out by a multi-stakeholder partnership composed of 9 CSOs, 1 trade-union, 1 vocational education centre and 1 training provider from 8 EU countries. The project intends, on one hand, to substantially increase European employers’ interest in employing migrant workforce within their staff, and on the other hand, to test and promote an innovative multi-stakeholder working method for approaching the integration of third-country nationals (TCN) in the labour market of the 8 partner countries. These outcomes will be achieved through activities organized in 4 Work Packages. The WP1 includes cross-cutting activities of management and coordination. The WP2 focuses on mapping best practices of employers successfully including TCN, which will be gathered in a Handbook of Best Practices for Employers, developing a training methodology addressing both employers and TCN and implementing a training of trainers. The WP3 includes trainings for employers based on the training methodology developed in WP2 and trainings for TCN focused on self-employment. The WP4 consists in transversal communication and dissemination activities supporting the whole action through the development of the MIraGE website, of a promo video and of a social media campaign in 9 EU languages. The project targets employers directly involved in the 8 partner countries as short-term beneficiaries, a wider range of employers in all EU-28 countries as mid-term beneficiaries and all citizens living in the EU as long-term beneficiaries.
