Description
Description | MATCH seeks to address labour market shortages in 4 EU Member States by enabling an estimated 210 migrants from Nigeria and Senegal to work for a period of 1-2 years in companies in Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg or the Netherlands where specific sectorial labour shortages have been identified primarily within the ICT, technology and digitalisation sectors. Candidates will be targeted and invited for a temporary job placement, following profile screening and matching with said companies, to upscale their skills and increase their employability upon return to their home countries. In an effort to empower women and mainstream gender considerations, the project will target a minimum share of 30% female beneficiaries. In addition to the mobility scheme, MATCH will implement complementary activities such as skills development, capacity building and knowledge sharing. The project will also pilot flexible solutions, allowing for the mobility of skills in time where the mobility of persons is severely restricted due to crises (e.g. pandemics). Labour migrants will be invited to attend trainings organised by the individual companies, Employer Organisations or Employment Agencies. Migrants will also be encouraged to engage in projects that contribute to the development of their country of origin. Finally, MATCH will facilitate the exchange between Employer Organisations and Employment Agencies in the 4 participating EU Member States and their counterparts in Senegal and Nigeria. Employer Organisations and Employment Agencies in Nigeria and Senegal will benefit from a capacity building scheme. It will allow them to better understand their labour markets, better match labour supply with demand and explore labour opportunities. This will facilitate the roll-out of future labour mobility schemes benefiting countries of origin and destination alike. |
