Milton Effluent Relocation and Sprayfield Project

The city of Milton has purchased 260 acres of land to create spray field capacity for land application of more than 2.5 million gallons a day of treated wastewater effluent. This project aims to end the release of effluent from the aging wastewater treatment facility into the Blackwater River, complying with a state mandate to remove effluent from the river by the end of 2025. The project includes infrastructure to run pipes from the existing treatment facility to pumping stations and spray fields on the newly acquired and existing parcels. The new wastewater treatment plant will eventually be constructed within the existing 116 and 80 acre parcels.
