The design phase began in late 2024, with demolition expected to start in 2028 and construction planned between 2029 and 2032. The county has allocated $38.6 million for preliminary planning, design, and consulting, with approximately $858 million needed for remaining construction. A supervisor has proposed a referendum for voters to decide on requiring County Board approval for additional financing during the construction phase. |
